Genuine connections can move quickly too, but they don't usually come with pressure attached.
A story that only moves forward, never backward
Ask a follow-up question about something they mentioned earlier and watch how they handle it. Someone telling the truth can usually add detail without contradicting themselves. Someone maintaining a fabricated story often gets vague, changes the subject, or gives an answer that doesn't quite match what they said before.
Reluctance to ever be seen, live
A photo that never seems to have a current match — always a new excuse for why a video call "isn't working right now" — is one of the most reliable signs that the profile isn't what it claims to be. One postponed call isn't suspicious. A pattern of avoidance is.
Any request involving money
