Is Nairobi Singles free to use?
Yes. Creating a profile, browsing, matching, and messaging are all free. Premium is optional and adds priority placement in Discover — nothing about the core experience is locked behind payment.
How does matching work?
Matching is mutual. You browse profiles in Discover and like the ones you're interested in — a match only happens once the other person likes you back too. Messaging only unlocks after a mutual match, so you'll never get unsolicited messages from someone you haven't matched with.
How do I upgrade to Premium, and how do I pay?
From the Premium page, choose a plan and pay via M-Pesa Paybill. You'll submit your transaction code for verification, and access activates once that's confirmed — see our full walkthrough on how Premium payments work.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Premium passes are fixed-term and don't auto-renew, so there's nothing to "cancel" — you simply choose whether to purchase again once a pass expires. See our Terms of Service for the full payment and refund policy.
Is my information safe?
Your exact birth date, email address, and precise location are never shown to other users — only your first name, age, photos, and neighbourhood-level location are. Read our Privacy Policy for the full detail on what we collect and how it's used.
What do I do if someone makes me uncomfortable?
Block them — it ends contact immediately in both directions. Report them — it goes to a real moderation team for review. Neither requires the other person's cooperation or awareness. See our Safety Guidelines for more on staying safe.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings, scroll to "Delete account," confirm your password, and select Permanently delete my account. This is a genuine, permanent deletion, not a deactivation — see how to delete your account for full detail.
Is Nairobi Singles only for people in Nairobi?
No — while Nairobi neighbourhoods are the most detailed, Nairobi Singles covers singles across Kenya. Browse locations to see areas and towns currently active on the platform.
What's the minimum age to join?
You must be 18 or older — the age of majority in Kenya. We ask for your date of birth at registration and enforce this strictly.
